Increased innovation

The aim of Service Based Xen practice is to develop a flexible, open mind by allowing time and attention to your thinking and new possibilities. (Understanding that the world is not always what it seems) fosters seeing problems and opportunities from a different perspective. This can be applied to problem solving, service management development, and improving business systems.

Increased communication, clear understanding

Mindfulness practice-and deep listening are integral to Service practice. You will learn the practice of deep listening, to yourself and to others .. These skills can be applied to services, team building, and general problem solving. Business ideas and business models start from paying attention to unfulfilled needs. When the mind is less busy and the ability to focus and concentrate is more developed you can communicate m ore clearly to people you work with, your customers, and your vendors. By shifting your focus and attention you build relationships as a way to improve outcomes and meet goals.

Enhanced problem-solving skills

Learn to embrace both a conventional viewpoint and an unconventional viewpoint of yourself and the world. Understand that time and space both exist and don’t exist as we normally see them. Seeing through this lens, problems become opportunities. Meditation and Xen practice transform our focus so that we come to understand that our problems, difficulties, and challenges are actually our best assets and greatest teachers.

Build organizational integrity and deepen relationships

Focusing and paying attention connects you to your deepest feelings and intentions, and the feelings and intentions of people in your workplace. Practicing right thinking, right speech, and right action (which we will learn more about in part 2) helps develop straightforward, open, and honest communication. By building integrity you deepen trust levels and connections with people a round you.

Build leadership and team- skills

Through practicing right speech and learning to bring the best out of others, our leadership skills are accentuated. The combination of self-knowledge, better listening skills, and heighten ed appreciation of the mystery of life makes for a more developed leader. Better relationships and cohesiveness come from improved listening and speech, and from actions becoming better aligned with deep beliefs and goals. Build creative and cohesive teams by clearer evaluation of your own and others’ strengths and weaknesses, and by seeing other people as primarily focused on awakening their true natures.

Appreciation

Arises as you reduce habitual thinking and actions. There is nothing but appreciation when you are living in the moment instead of being distracted by looking toward a past and future that don’t really exist.

Increased work satisfaction

As work becomes a context for the practice of awakening, it’s transforming for yourself and for the people around you. Each moment becomes an opportunity to practice, to listen, and to be grateful for what we have. Mistakes and setbacks become opportunities.

Improved focus and concentration

Develop the ability both to focus on one project or object and to bring larger issues and strategies into focus. Improve the ability to concentrate and learn to cut through distractions. Learn to “stay close to yourself” by knowing in your bones what is truly important and by not get ting caught by old patterns and habits.

Develop autonomous thinking and action

Noticing and altering habitual patterns of thinking opens the way for a different quality of thought. With a taste of freedom from habitual thinking comes the ability to see and act with less hindrance. As you learn to trust yourself deeply, fear lessens and actions become more focused and affective. Increase your ability to move fearlessly and at the same time to evaluate the entire situation from several viewpoints, thus minimizing risk.
